No thrills printing – Epson Stylus D92
No thrills is a good way to describe the Epson Stylus D92, it’s designed to be a budget inkjet printer for everyday printing needs. The first thing you notice the that its cheap, very cheap, which is great but then you realise (if your smart) that a full set of replacement Epson D92 ink cartridges are the same price as the printer, not so great. The reason for this is not because the D92 printer ink cartridges are more expensive than other printers it just that because the printer is cheap you assume the printer cartridges are going to be cheap as well.
Luckily there are cheap compatible inks available which cost a lot less and are widely available from inkjet cartridge retailers. One surprise of the D92 is the quality in which it prints, this is thanks to its four colour high resolution print head which helps gives razor sharp prints with vivid colour tones. In order to achieve these high quality print result however requires the D92 to be in high quality setting especially when printing photos and this adversely effects the printing speed. The D92 feels well put together and the design looks clean and modern with a dark grey casing and jet black lid, it compact too so doesn’t take up hardly any room on a desk. The Stylus D92 is a good little printer provided you don’t need to print large qualities of pages quickly.
